These meeting will allow Local Program Managers\, Coaches\, Caregivers and Athletes the opportunity to connect with staff\, receive timely informational updates and learn more about Special Olympics related topics. Hosted by the Region 8 Athletic & Development Directors\, each meeting will also include assorted state staff and will cover sports and fundraising updates\, as well as a broad category of finance\, volunteers\, recruitment\, health and unified topics that will be different each quarter. Keira recently wrote this children’s book about a friendly monster named Mila and her love for basketball. It is an inspiring story about acknowledging when something is hard not refusing to give up on yourself. \nMila and the Too Hard Hoop by Keira Thompson is available for purchase on Amazon if you would like to send to a family member or friend! Plus\, Keira will be donating a percentage of her profits to SOWI! \nYoung Athletes\, ages 2 -10 years old\, will get a copy of this book mailed to them when they sign up for the storytime so they can follow along with our SOWI athlete.
