SUMMARY:Packers Give Back Game
DESCRIPTION:‘Packers Give Back Game’ will honor Special Olympics Wisconsin to celebrate its 50-year history of creating inclusive communities through sports.  \nLambeau Field is set to welcome fans for the August 19 preseason matchup between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The game is the second annual “Packers Give Back Game” which supports a benefiting charity from Wisconsin during the preseason each year. Friday’s game will recognize Special Olympics Wisconsin as the event’s nonprofit honoree. \nHundreds of Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes\, coaches\, families\, volunteers\, and staff will be welcomed to the Frozen Tundra and recognized as SOWI celebrates its 50th anniversary. Guests will receive a free bus ride to the game\, as well as food and beverage cards to use while enjoying the game at Lambeau Field. \nPrior to kickoff\, several athletes will take the field with a Special Olympics torch and fans throughout the stadium will be invited to join them in reciting the Athlete Oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win\, let me be brave in the attempt.” At halftime\, Special Olympics Unified Flag Football Teams will take part in a scrimmage on Lambeau Field. \nThe Green Bay Packers Give Back Game is a component of the OUR TEAM partnership\, a first-of-its-kind initiative announced April 2022 between Special Olympics Wisconsin\, the Green Bay Packers\, Milwaukee Bucks\, Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Admirals. OUR TEAM’s goal is to celebrate athletes of all abilities across Wisconsin and engage fans\, players\, partners and media to promote inclusion. This is all in effort to recognize Wisconsin as the first State of Inclusion by 2072. \n

SUMMARY:Chippewa Valley Air Show SOWI VIP Event
DESCRIPTION:Mega! Holiday is one of the major sponsors for the Chippewa Valley Air Show\, where the main attraction will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.  Mega! Holiday is able to use their sponsorship to help our communities in several ways.  One way they chose to use the sponsorship is to provide SOWI athletes from across Wisconsin an opportunity to attend the practice day and watch as the pilots prepare for their shows throughout the weekend. \nWe are excited to once again provide an opportunity for all athletes\, their families and any coaches\, volunteers\, SOWI staff and volunteer support organizations like LETR to attend this very special pre-show event. We will transform the President VIP club area at the airshow into the SOWI VIP area and will be a place that everyone can gather and watch the show/practice.  We’ll also have beverages\, sandwiches\, cookies and snacks for those that attend. \nDetails are still being finalized. The SOWI VIP event will be the afternoon of 6/3 and will be located at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport in Eau Claire\, Wisconsin. \nPlease reach out to Michaela Harrison (MHarrison@SpecialOlympicsWisconsin.org) if you are interested in attending.
