Athletic Director (R8)
Amber Weinfurter
Amber is the Athletic Director for Region 8- the Greater Milwaukee Region. She is responsible for the management of all of Region 8 Regional and District Competitions as well as State Volleyball and State Tee Ball. Amber is in charge of recruiting athletes and volunteers within Region 8. She also serves as a resource and support for Local Programs in her region.
"Special Olympics is important to me because it encompasses all three of my passions; event planning, sports and working with people with disabilities. I have had other jobs that have fulfilled one or two of those pillars but this job I get to experience all three. Being a former college athlete, I know how important sports are in life. Not just on the court or field, but the many life lessons one can learn from competing and being on a team. No matter your ability, everyone should be able to experience this!"
