Athletes are the heart of Special Olympics and include children and adults with intellectual disabilities (ID). Thousands of athletes in Wisconsin experience success, joy, and friendship within our community.
Who Are They?
Special Olympics welcomes individuals with intellectual disabilities, ages 8 and up, from all regions of the state. There is also a Young Athletes program for ages 2 to 10, fostering skill development, friendships, and confidence.
Every Day, Everywhere
Special Olympics Wisconsin offers 19 Olympic-style sports year-round, coached by certified volunteers. Athletes, averaging 33 years old, explore various sports, ensuring inclusivity across all ages and skill levels. Whatever your age or skill level, Special Olympics has something for you.
Become a Coach
Special Olympics Wisconsin coaches are heroes to our athletes, imparting lessons in teamwork, discipline, and confidence. They profoundly impact lives, fostering inclusion and empowerment.
Coaches provide support, guidance, and encouragement, helping athletes lead fulfilling lives and showcasing their abilities.
