CUNA Mutual Group supports Special Olympics Wisconsin

Year-round training and athletic competition for Wisconsin children and adults with intellectual disabilities received a boost recently from CUNA Mutual Group.

CUNA Mutual Group and its investment advisor affiliate, CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc., have contributed $5,000 to Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI). The money will support programming in sports training and competition for nearly 10,000 athletes statewide.

The Special Olympics Wisconsin fundraising initiative occurred at CUNA Mutual Group’s President’s Council in Switzerland. President’s Council annually recognizes the company’s top performers. Guests and spouses of President’s Council attendees raised the money as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Project held each year at President’s Council. Another $3,000 was contributed to the Switzerland Special Olympics program.

“We are honored to have supported Special Olympics in this way,” said Jim Power, EVP, Chief Products Officer of CUNA Mutual Group. “Helping someone with special needs is close to the hearts of many of our employees and aligns with CUNA Mutual’s commitment to those in our communities.”

Special Olympics Wisconsin President & CEO Dennis Alldridge commented, “Special Olympics Wisconsin is grateful for the support of CUNA Mutual, which will go to provide sports training and competition for our athletes. CUNA Mutual does tremendous work in the Madison community and we look forward to growing our partnership with CUNA Mutual and their employees to further our mission in the local area.”
