Inclusive Health Manager
Kayla Loeber
Kayla Loeber is the Inclusive Health Manager for Special Olympics Wisconsin. She leads inclusive health initiatives across the state of Wisconsin by conducting trainings for medical professionals, students, and community partners to improve health care for people with intellectual disabilities. These trainings focus on increasing awareness, building trust, and improving communication skills to reduce health disparities and create more inclusive healthcare environments.
In addition to provider education, Kayla also facilitates the Athlete Health Messenger program, which empowers SOWI athletes to become health leaders and advocates within their communities. Through this program, athletes learn about wellness, nutrition, physical activity, and emotional health while gaining confidence to educate and inspire their peers.
"Special Olympics Wisconsin is important to me because it brings me so much joy. I get to interact with athletes who inspire me to be a better person and I can't leave a meeting, event, etc. without being feeling fulfilled or motivated to change the lives of others. With my role I get to combine two of my favorite passions, health and working with people who have ID, I couldn't ask for a better career."
