"As the parent of a young adult with an intellectual disability, Special Olympics Wisconsin is important to me because it is an organization that allows people with an intellectual disability to recognize their strengths and abilities, fostering self-advocacy, leadership, and confidence. I am passionate about recognizing and thanking those who work with individuals with disabilities. They are not just only coaches, volunteers and teachers - to many families like ours they provide extra support, direction and a shoulder to lean on during challenging times."
