Healthy Athletes – Special Smiles

At the last Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® Special Smiles event held in Waukesha 28% of athletes  screened had untreated tooth decay!  Stop by the Special Smiles tent at the State Outdoor Sports Tournament at Carroll University on August 7, 2021 for a free oral health screening.

Special Smiles®, presented by Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation, performs dental screenings to increase awareness of oral health. At the screening, dentists and hygienists identify oral problems, while athletes are provided with hygiene education, a “goodie bag” with dental care items and can receive a fluoride varnish applications!
