Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving Raises $528K for SOWI

Jersey Mike’s Subs and their customers across Wisconsin rallied to raise more than $528,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin during the company’s 14th Annual Month of Giving in March.

Thirty-nine Wisconsin Jersey Mike’s locations accepted donations from customers throughout the month to support Special Olympics Wisconsin, culminating with the Day of Giving on March 27, when restaurants donated 100 percent of sales to Special Olympics Wisconsin.

“We’re so grateful to Jersey Mike’s and their customers for their incredible support of our mission”, Special Olympics Wisconsin President & CEO Chad Hershner said. “Because of their generosity, thousands of athletes across Wisconsin can continue to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy. Their donation will also help us continue and expand our health and wellness programs, school-based inclusion initiatives, and leadership development.”

Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes and staff visited stores throughout the month to thank Jersey Mike’s team members and customers for their support. Nationally, the Month of Giving raised more than $25 million for local charities.

“It’s incredibly heart-warming to see our customers rally to support their local charities by showing up to buy subs,” said Caroline Jones, Senior Vice President, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc., and daughter of Founder Peter Cancro. “Day of Giving is our busiest day, and we look forward to it all year. Thank you to our customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners for making a difference!”

With this year’s donation, Jersey Mike’s has surpassed the $100 million mark all-time, raising $113 million for local charities since Month of Giving began in 2011.
