More than $170,000 Raised at Over the Edge

More than 140 cause conscious thrill seekers raised more than $170,000 by rappelling Over the Edge of Miller Park on July 19 and Lambeau Field on August 9.

Last weekend, supporters rappelled 140 feet the legendary football stadium. There was fun for the entire family, including a bungie run, music, entertainment, and games provided by the Fox Sports Wisconsin Girls. Former Green Bay Packers players, Bill Schroeder, Tony Fisher and Dexter McNabb high fived participants as they touched down on Saturday from 12 p.m.-3 p.m.

Rappellers included: gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke; Jon Stemper and Gerry Halboth, Team Wisconsin athletes who competed at the Special Olympics USA Games in June; the Fox Sports Wisconsin Girls; and Packers wives, Laura Hawk and Emily Nelson. Paul Baniel, CFO of the Packers and Board Chair of Special Olympics Wisconsin who rappelled the walls of Miller Park on July 19, made his decent at Lambeau with his three daughters by his side.

Funds raised at both rappelling sites will provide year-round sports training and competition to nearly 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities in approximately 180 communities across Wisconsin. Learn more at www.SpecialOlympicsWisconsin.org.
