Special Olympics Partners with Brewers and Packers for once-in-a-lifetime Experience at Miller Park and Lambeau Field!

MADISON, Wis.-Cause-conscious thrill seekers will take part in an urban adventure this summer by rappelling down legendary Miller Park on Saturday, July 19 and Lambeau Field on Saturday, August 9!

These venues are the only NFL and MLB stadiums in the country that allow sports fans to descend their walls. Rappelling will take place from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will include fun for the entire family, including music and other entertainment. Funds raised provide year-round programming in sports, health and education to nearly 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state.

“Our athletes challenge themselves every day. By going Over the Edge, supporters can go beyond their limits while benefitting a great cause,” said Special Olympics Wisconsin CEO, Dennis Alldridge. “This event is just another way that Special Olympics reveals the champion in all of us.”

Participants only need to fundraise $1,000 to experience this thrilling event. Diehard fans raising $1,500 or more will earn a spot to rappel at both stadiums! Special Olympics staff members support every participant along the way by providing fundraising tips, such as, asking 50 friends to donate $20.

Other popular edge packages include “Toss Your Boss” and “Cast Your Coach”, where companies, students, etc. can collect donations to send leaders over the edge, and the ever-popular, “Buddy Rappel” for the ultimate experience with a friend or family member-special discounts apply!

A one-story training wall is on-site so participants can get a feel for the harness before they take it to new heights. No prior rappelling experience is required. All participants will be treated like VIPs while supporters cheer them on during their thrilling descent.

Media are invited to experience Over the Edge firsthand during media day on Friday, July 18 in Milwaukee and Friday, August 8 in Green Bay from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. To register as media, contact Christina Harris at [email protected].  For more information about the event, visit www.SpecialOlympicsWisconsin.org.
