Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI)-Fox Valley Region 4 is pleased to announce Mark Wolfgram has joined the team as the Regional Director of Sports. Wolfgram’s responsibilities will include recruiting and managing volunteers, committees, and athletes to attend sporting events.
“I am truly excited about the new challenge ahead. I look forward to working with Nicci Sprangers and her team of interns at the Region 4 office. I am also looking forward to meeting and working with all of the great team of Agency Managers, coaches, volunteers and Games Management Team members within Region 4,” said Wolfgram.
Wolfgram has more than 35 years experience working with Special Olympics. Since 1990 he has served as chairperson on the Games Management Committee for the Special Olympics. He has also coached, volunteered as an Agency Manager to coordinate local teams, and acted as a Games Director for a number of sports.
In his previous roles, he assisted the previous SOWI Regional Director of Sports with various clinics and competitions at the Regional, Sectional and State level and helped with volunteer recruitment of officials, scheduling of competitions, and managing events.
Special Olympics North America (SONA) nominated Wolfgram to serve as the Technical Delegate for basketball at the USA Games in Princeton, New Jersey and he will also serve as the Assistant Technical Delegate for basketball at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, California.
Wolfgram has previously coached at the 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 Special Olympics World Games and the 2006 and 2010 USA Games. Wolfgram is certified to coach basketball, bocce, softball, soccer, athletics, volleyball, flag football and bowling.
Wolfgram holds a B.S. in Speech Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. For the past 25 years, Wolfgram has worked as a Sales Support Manager for Plexus Corporation, working with companies to design and manufacture their electronic products.
