Dr. Tammy Boudry, Dr. Robb Warren, and Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation receive distinguished health honor
Three incredible Special Smiles© health care providers and community partners were awarded with Special Olympics Wisconsin’s 2024 Golisano Health Leadership Award. Dr. Tammy Boudry, Dr. Robb Warren, and Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation received their awards at SOWI’s Spring Games Opening Ceremony on April 12 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
The Golisano Health Leadership Award recognizes health champions’ extraordinary efforts—the highest honor for health partners and individuals who fulfil the goals, values, and mission of Special Olympics’ global health program—all made possible by the Golisano Foundation.
Dr. Tammy Boudry and Dr. Robb Warren are Clinical Directors for Special Smiles who go above and beyond the call of duty. Both shut down their entire clinics and encourage their staff to volunteer for the annual SO Give Athletes a Smile Day. Dr. Tammy and Dr. Robb and their teams provide free and necessary care for cases identified at Special Smiles.
Dr. Boudry has provided these services for three years in the Fond du Lac area, while Dr. Warren has done so for the past six years in Madison. Last year alone they combined to offer $40,000 of dental services—completely free to SOWI athletes who may not have access to care.
Helping with some of those costs, the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation has supported SOWI oral health programming since 2001. It has allowed SOWI to offer Special Smiles four times a year AND provide follow-up care coordination with places like Dr. Boudry and Dr. Warren’s offices. In the 20-plus years of involvement, Delta Dental of Wisconsin has given SOWI more than $600,000 of funds to support athletes’ dental care.
A special thank you to Dr. Boudry, Dr. Warren, Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation, and to all of our volunteer clinical directors, medical professionals, and students who make these health events a reality!
