Team Basketball

About Team Basketball

Team Basketball consists of traditional or unified 5v5 teams competing in full-court, timed competition. One of Special Olympics Wisconsin’s most popular team sports, Team Basketball has two rounds of qualifying before culminating at Spring Games.


2026 Competition Options

Team Basketball is part of the Spring Season. Athletes may not compete in any other sport in the Spring Season in conjunction with Team Basketball.

All teams will compete in the appropriate Regional/District competition based on their region. Teams that receive a Quota spot at Regional/District will advance to the Northern or Sectional Tournament. Teams that receive a Quota spot at Sectionals will advance to the Spring Games. Teams that place 1st in each tournament will receive a quota spot. Additional quota will be distributed by random draw.
